Contract Underwriter Level 1, Personal Insurance, 12 Month Contract
Job Description
Gore Mutual’s underwriting team is constantly looking for ways to help our broker partners serve their clients better. It’s all about delivering genuine personal service, listening carefully to understand their needs, and creating tailored solutions. This is a customer service focused role, blending the customer needs with profitable underwriting results.
We are looking for an energetic, career minded Underwriter to join our team of professionals on a contract basis. This entry level position has great opportunity for growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Process policy changes, renewals and new business transactions accurately and within the company’s service level agreements
- Partner with brokers to gather missing information required to process transactions accurately
- Provide needed support to our underwriting teams
- Respond to queries regarding policy information
- Provide top notch customer service to our broker partners
What you’ll need to be successful
- University degree, college diploma or equivalent experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- 1-year insurance related experience preferred
- CIP designation or actively pursuing preferred
- Proficient computer skills including a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Detail oriented and can work well under pressure
- Ability to multi-task and work within deadlines with minimum supervision
- Previous customer service experience is an asset
