SGI CANADA is currently looking for a Commercial Property Underwriter to be part of SGI CANADA’s growth in Western Canada. This position can be located in either our Edmonton office or in Calgary to help spearhead our newest brank, however flexible remote work options are available!

Underwriters are responsible for reviewing, evaluating and determining insurability for SGI CANADA (Alberta) commercial property insurance products. In this role, you will examine the nature and degree of risk involved, negotiate conditions, rates and premiums with brokers and processes insurance policies. You will support a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies and be actively committed to leadership development through mentorship, training and developmental opportunities.

Education and Experience

  • A two-year diploma from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field of study such as Business and specializing in insurance and risk management.
  • Minimum of one year experience in underwriting.
