Full-Time Underwriter Assistant

Job Description

SGI CANADA is currently looking for multiple, permanent, full-time Underwriter Assistant positions. In this role you will process insurance policies, review, evaluate, and determine insurability for routine renewal insurance applications for personal property and standard auto. As well as provide administrative support to the underwriting team.

We are looking for candidates who are customer-focused and look for ways to improve the customer experience. These positions are part of the Personal Lines unit and are located at either our Toronto East or West locations in Ontario.

For our Underwriting Assistant, here are some things we’ll look for:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide technical information, advice or guidance to customers.
  • One-year certificate from an accredited post-secondary education institution in a relevant field such as Business or Office Administration.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working in an insurance industry office environment.
