Full-Time Team Leader – Professional insurance
Job Description
Summary
Reporting to the VP Operations, the Team Leader will work with management team and his or her own team to achieve the underwriting objectives. He or she will participate in the design of insurance programs that meet the needs of Groupassur’s members in order to ensure that the quality of the risks underwritten is adequate and to achieve the maximum profitability. Main responsibilities
- Verify and control insurance policies, wordings and standards
- Confirm and approve that underwriting standards reflect contracts and meet program needs
- Work with underwriters on contracts and standards
- Evaluate risk and eligibility of potential and current high service client files based on program criteria, relevant legislation and underwriting principles.
- Accept risks requiring a high level of authority
- Initiate and maintain a privileged relationship with brokers by providing them with the highest level of service
- Analyze and manage audits and recommendations received
Team Leader responsibilities
- Guide, support and assist team members in achieving results
- Assign tasks to team members, including those he/she will manage
- Determine timeline and monitor progress to ensure the project is on track
- Provide coaching sessions, conduct formal performance management, provide documentation, ensure motivation and development, plan and conduct team meeting
- Track trends, maintain and develop/improve standard operating procedures with the team.
Profile
- At least 5 years of experience in professional insurance, including 2 years as a team leader
- Have an advanced level of English
- Have a CIP designation or a diploma in insurance, or be in the process of obtaining it (asset)
- Good knowledge of the Office suite, Outlook 365, Teams
- Comfortable with various software and technological tools
- Have good negotiation skills
- Demonstrate autonomy and resourcefulness
- Have a good sense of responsibility and priorities
- Good analytical skills and ability to make decisions under pressure
- Entrepreneurial attitude and willingness to go the extra mile
