Job Description

A rapidly growing Insurance Brokerage is hiring a Team Lead for their Inside Sales Department.  They are looking for a true leader to provide mentorship and support to the Sales team. Additionally, the successful candidate will play a key role in implementing and uncovering opportunities to simplify procedures to improve workflow and client experience.  You will be heard here! Here is a run-down!

  • Provide mentorship and coaching to the Sales Team.
  • Collaborate with Brokers on unique risks, underwriting and submissions.
  • Make final decisions on approvals for risks beyond front-line binding authority.
  • Liaise with the Service Team Leader regularly to coordinate risks that require new policies and for cross-selling.
  • Ensure team members provide exceptional service focusing on the client experience to build meaningful relationships via regular call reviews.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and written with partners and carriers.
  • Provide support and/or recommendations for process improvements to Managers, as appropriate.
  • Adhere to compliance and operational risk controls in accordance with company’s policies and procedures.
  • Monitor day-to-day schedule adherence.
  • Handle all incoming escalations and prioritize as needed.
  • Support other team functions, as necessary.


What you bring to the role:

  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in sales and services within the insurance industry
  • University degree in business, economics, or a related field preferred.
  • RIBO License in both Ontario and Alberta as a general agent/broker preferred
  • Understanding of KPIs (SLA, AHT, NRT etc.)
  • Call centre experience and above-average proficiency in MS Office
  • Leadership skills, with a focus on mentoring and motivating an employee base of professionals.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and accountability.
  • Diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
