The Senior Underwriter is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with assigned brokers and managing and growing a profitable book of commercial property business with emphasis on excellent service standards. In this role you will examine the nature and degree of risk involved, negotiate conditions, rates and premiums with brokers and explain SGI CANADA’s underwriting approach and logic to brokers.

Requirements

Candidates must bring the education and experience to succeed in this unique opportunity — after all, we’re counting on you.  We are looking for candidates who have a two-year diploma in a relevant field of study such as Insurance or Business and a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation. Candidates should have at least 7 years experience in underwriting. Alternative combinations of relevant education and experience may also be considered.
