Senior Commercial Account Manager/Team Lead
GTA – In Office
Overall Responsibilities
Motivate, coach, and mentor team members while developing the teams skills as well as manage conflict.
Works in conjunction with management including decision making and keeps management updated on team performance.
Position Overview
The Account Manager, Team Lead role provides customer service to clients of the Commercial Lines Group and also acts as a Team Lead to a group Account Managers.
Account Manager Responsibilities 70%:
* Manage a book of business by providing effective customer service including assessing customer needs, advising on insurance matters, recommending solutions, answering inquiries, etc.
* Facilitate and ensure clients have a full understanding of policy coverage and exclusions through clear and concise communications
* Facilitate client retention through extraordinary service levels, remarketing of renewals to alternate insurance companies, ensuring mono-line accounts are solicited for the other line and directed to New Business Account Managers
* Administrative responsibilities including:
o Reporting new claims and suspending follow up claims management per protocol to Claims Coordinator always showing empathy
o Pull and manage monthly renewal reports in order to proactively meet required target for renewal touches and file review per protocol
o Assisting with second level payment inquiries
o Assist with receivables for agency bill clients (second level)
o Manage suspense’s daily
Team Lead Responsibilities 30%:
* Liaise with Account Managers to ensure proper support is provided to the customers
* Oversee administration of a team of Account Managers including:
o Onboarding of new hires (training and mentoring)
o Administer vacation and attendance
o Conduct performance management (improvement notices, performance appraisals)
o Provide day to day guidance/instructions to team. Coach for improvement.
o Provides Management with suggestions/input on efficient operations of the team
o Act as first level escalation as required
People Management:
• Schedule, Organize and Conduct effective team meetings.
• Collaborate with HR for performance management and onboarding
• Ensure new product offerings and technologies are communicated and trained, Insurer Training/Re-training is conducted as needed/seasonally.
Experience
* Experience in understanding insurance language and products
* Demonstrated customer service skills
* Ability to problem solve and manage difficult situations
* Demonstrated coaching experience and people management skills
* 7-10 years experience working as an Account Manager
Skills and Education
* Strong written and oral communications
* Effective communication skills (written, verbal, comprehension)
Working Conditions

o Keyboarding and using a computer terminal
