Position Description
We are currently seeking a candidate to join our growing team in Canada as a Reverse Flow Underwriter. Reporting to the Reverse Flow Manager, the successful candidate will have strong analytical, time management skills and communication skills. Experience in underwriting both property and casualty risks is required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Handling a reverse flow renewal portfolio within the framework of our underwriting guidelines.
- Handling incoming new risks from other HDI offices requiring locally admitted paper
- Providing exceptional service to our Brokers and Insureds through all stages of the underwriting process.
- Working closely with other HDI offices globally
- Ensuring proper file documentation and accuracy of policy documents.
- Enhancing our brand visibility by participating in Industry events, socials, conferences etc.
Position Requirements
- Positive and self-motivated.
- 3-5 years of underwriting experience in property and casualty LOB.
- Solid technical knowledge of property & casualty wordings
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Completion of or actively pursuing insurance courses would be an asset.
- Completion of Bachelor’s degree or equivalent would be an asset.
- Proficient in use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word & Outlook).
- Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
- Working knowledge of German and/or French considered an asset.
- Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced team environment.
