Regional Manager

The Regional Manager provides guidance and support to the account executives and the account managers in the Kingston office and ensures the efficient and accurate operations of the personal lines and commercial functions within the office. The Regional Manager works with the President and other Regional Managers to establish strategy and goals relevant for the area.

Position Requirements:

  • Post secondary education, business or insurance program preferred.
  • 3 – 5 years of direct work experience in a management capacity.
  • Experience in all aspects of insurance sales, including growth strategies, account development, and business planning is considered an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines and commercial lines sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, lead and direct sales forces.
  • Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of cost analysis, fiscal management, and budgeting techniques.
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of proficiency with broker management software packages (Sig XP and CompuQuote).
  • Some travel will be required, primarily in eastern Ontario.

Job Duties

Account Executives

  • Ensues that branch operations are consistent with established work flows. Work with Account Executives to coach and correct work flow and performance issues and works with human resources to identify staffing needs/changes.
  • Coach account executives when developing sales presentations and strategies.
  • Maintains accurate, complete and timely sales information.
  • Analyze the effectiveness of sales programs; recommend and implement changes based on findings.
  • With the account executive, develops, manages, and nurtures new business accounts and partnerships to accomplish profit and sales goals.

Account Managers:

  • Reviews business transactions reports on a weekly and monthly basis and takes action where needed. Monitors suspenses, etc to ensure that the Account Managers are meeting established guidelines and targets
  • Uses audit results to counsel and support staff who have demonstrated learning needs.

General Management:

  • Participates in annual budget and goal setting process for the office.
  • Supports and drives corporate initiatives within the branch (e.g. social activities, etc.)
  • Acts as Branch resource for IT requests, PL and CL directives from Head Office.
  • Complete other duties as necessary.
