Program Specialist

We currently have a full-time position available in our British Columbia, Commercial Lines department in our Vancouver office. Reporting to our Commercial Lines Manager (BC), the successful candidate will provide support our Programs business. More specifically:

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete daily Underwriting of Program Business, including but not limited to Underwriting exceptions and Broker queries regarding eligibility, Program Guidelines etc.
  • Ensure monthly bookings are completed and ensure un-booked premium is reported end of each month;
  • Review the outstanding business end of month to determine what Program Business has not been actioned accordingly;
  • Assist with the implementation of New and existing Programs by ensuring Templates, Declaration pages, program raters and Broker Documentation are executed properly and in a consistent fashion;
  • Assist with billing queries and with updating Program Guidelines and providing proper Documentation to the Broker;
  • Ensure Monthly Bordereau’s are received, reviewed and processed in a timely fashion;
  • Implement and maintain a Monthly Audit Schedule for all programs;
  • Monitor incoming program emails and action then accordingly;
  • Organize and purge the Program Folders as required;
  • Assist the Commercial Lines Manager with Annual Program Audit process and reports;
  • Preparation of presentations for Broker Training;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Abilities/Competencies

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a related field; CIP or CRM designation or in progress is an asset;
  • 1-3 years of insurance industry experience;
  • Ability to work independently;
  • Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies in processes and develop innovative solutions for improvement;
  • Strong technical skills with an ability to learn new software quickly;
  • Advanced MS Excel skills required and experience with MS Office 365 an asset;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to details, including data quality.
