Job Overview:

This position involves working with and assisting a team of Advisors in servicing a very active personal insurance book of business. It includes all aspects of the insurance business, such as marketing new and renewal business, data gathering and entering, processing and billing.  The successful candidate must be highly motivated, have a positive can-do attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.  You will become part of a team whose core objective is to service clients’ needs and exceed their expectations.

Essential Job Functions

  • Process of new business, policy changes, cancellations and re-instatements on company portals
  • Assist in the processing of new policies, renewals, invoices with accompanying client letters
  • Gather underwriting information, such as ordering MVR’s, Autoplus, Hits and EzItv
  • Manage abeyances and renewal follow-ups for Advisors and other team members prior to renewal
  • Work efficiently with Microsoft Excel and Word documents in order to do the following:
    • confirmation of insurance forms for dealers
    • market comparisons
    • enter client account data by inputting alphabetic and numeric information
    • format client documents, including letters, company memos, literature and marketing information
  • Follow-up on Account Receivables
  • Administrative duties such as:
  • data entry and invoicing transactions into company database (TAM)
  • maintain and update electronic client files and ensure proper documentation
  • issue liability slips
  • sort and distribute incoming mail
  • photocopying, printing, preparing and binding of documents
  • reception relief on assigned days/times
  • Perform other related duties and special projects, as required

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 1 year of experience in a similar role within an Insurance Brokerage
  • RIBO Licence, must be obtained within 3 months of continuous employment
  • An Asset:
  • Familiarity with The Agency Manager (TAM) and/or Compuquote
  • Skill Sets Required
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Self-motivation with ability to problem-solve with limited supervision
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with changing priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office programs:  Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Accurate data entry skills
