Personal Lines Broker/Auto Supervisor
Profile Summary
We are currently recruiting a Auto Supervisor that reports to the Branch Manager for our retained client in Salmon Arm, and is responsible for developing and managing the auto department, with accountability for compliance, increasing revenues, profitability, and flow through, managing expenses, as well as the overall satisfaction / engagement of both clients and employees.
Responsibilities
Business Development:
o Help develop annual business plan, with the Branch Manager that when executed, will meet targets, and maximize every opportunity, for Auto in the branch including:
o New business, Leads, Private Auto, Business retention, ICBC and Private Auto growth and Client experience
o Ensure an excellent and consistent client service experience
o Work with Branch Manager to ensure strong dealer relationships and issues are treated with a high sense of urgency so they can be resolved quickly and amicably.
o Ensure all best practices are adopted and effective for the branch
o Maximize on opportunities for efficiency
o Participate actively in both the business and industry communities to build a network of contacts that improve the presence and reputation of the branch and organization
o Supervising Autoplan agents in connection with their Autoplan roles. .
o Leading by example, being a positive role model.
o Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Talent Management Responsibilities
o Provide a professional, positive work environment that attracts, retains and motivates talent
o Support the team of talent to achieve their highest performance potential by holding staff accountable to the standards indicated above.
o Clear, concise and consistent communication (branch specific, corporate communications, etc.)
o Ensure monthly office meetings, weekly department mini meets and monthly staff one on ones are scheduled and executed.
o Coach and mentor auto staff so each has the opportunity to develop and perform to his/her highest potential.
o Assist Branch Manager in recruitment and the selection process.
Operational Responsibilities
o Manage operational aspects of the branch including corporate branding, office aesthetics and cleanliness
o Ensure compliance with ICBC rules and regulations through regular check-ins and inspection. Including batching, inventory management, forms completion, completing Policy Centre transactions and training completion.
o Review batch documents prior to remitting to ICBC
o Maintaining and growing the Book of Business.
o Providing assistance to the walk-in Auto customers as required.
o Processing and monitoring daily/weekly/monthly renewal lists.
o Scheduling the Auto agents, ensuring shifts are adequately covered. Adjust schedule as needed to adapt to changes required due to illness, staffing changes, business needs, etc..
o Ensure consistent and effective application of all corporate policies and procedures as they apply to the business or to the employees
Qualifications
o Ability to work collaboratively with direct reports, colleagues and front line talent to create a results driven and team oriented environment
o Strong communication skills (verbal & written)
o Excellent interpersonal skills with a variety of individuals (internal and external)
o Passion and firm understanding of BC Auto Insurance
o Strong organizational skills
o Minimum 2 years’ experience in BC Auto
o Level 2 General Insurance License
