Full-Time National Business Development Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a sales-focused insurance professional responsible for developing a portfolio of business by strategically engaging insurance brokers to meet the growth and profitability goals of our Insurance Made Easy Underwriting division.
Duties & Responsibilities
Business Development
- Promote Insurance Made Easy Underwriting’s offering to insurance brokers across Canada
- Recruit new broker business to achieve growth and profitability targets
- Manage new contracts and request resources needed from the appropriate parties to on-board new brokers
- Provide training to brokers on the insurance products, guidelines and procedures
- Develop existing and new assets to increase our appeal to brokers
- Arrange and conduct individual and regional meetings with brokers
- Manage relationships with brokers, respond to their needs and provide expertise on how to grow their portfolio
- Develop customized action plans according to individual broker needs
- Attend industry functions, trade shows and conferences to promote Insurance Made Easy Underwriting to prospective brokers
- Manage relationships with insurer partners
Marketing & Communication
- Assist in developing marketing plan consistent with Mission, Vision and Values
- Develop and implement plans to meet new sales and retention goals
- Develop training curriculum to promote Insurance Made Easy Underwriting
- Obtain approval of training material by regulatory bodies as required
- Update training curriculum and delivery based on participant feedback
- Develop communication plan for brokers to inform of new and changing products and procedures
- Develop communication plan for Regional Managers to notify of new broker contracts and anticipated workloads
- Communicate regularly with Regional Managers to coordinate workload
- Provide feedback and business results monthly to the management team
- Oversee all external communication, marketing and social media outlets
Planning
- Establish annual new sales and retention goals
- Establish annual marketing budget expense plan
- Monitor budget reports monthly and take action as required
- Monitor loss reports monthly and notify management of areas of concern
- Monitor broker results monthly and take action as required
- Establish the anticipated workload based on annual goals and communicate it to Regional Managers to coordinate incoming workload
- Validate monthly accounting reports to ensure accurate commission payments
- Review quality of business
Personal/Professional Development
- Complete job role related self-development as agreed upon
- Participate in courses and seminars
- Ongoing development of boat and insurance industry knowledge
Job Requirements
Education Level
- Post-secondary level education
- RIBO license an asset
