Full-Time Manager, Financial Reporting
Job Description
Everest Global Services, Inc., a member of the Everest Re Group Ltd., has an opportunity available for a Financial Reporting Manager in our Toronto office. Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Accountant, this individual will be responsible for:
• IFRS project lead/accounting
• Preparing Chief Agent reporting (P&C analysis)
• GAAP reconciliations, review (internal reporting – underwriting results vs Plan, and YOY)
• Financial Exception Report signoff
• Assisting with the preparation of management report on underwriting results, including financial statement note disclosures.
• Planning and forecasting of underwriting results
• OSFI P&C financial report review
• Interfacing with Actuary and external auditors
• Ledger reconciliation sign off
• Reinsurance Accounting back-up
Qualifications:
• Minimum 6 – 8 years of accounting experience in Reinsurance and/or Insurance P&C industry
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills – both written and verbal
• Deadline-oriented
• IFRS accounting experience is an asset
• Strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills
• University degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
• CPA designation an asset but not required
