Bookkeeper/Accountant

Job Summary:

The position mandate is to ensure the daily implementation, efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting administration through functions and processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Reconciliation of client accounts
  • Reconcile insurance carrier accounts and follow up on discrepancies
  • Reconcile payment of staff expense claims, and general vendor accounts
  • Review, update and reconcile day to day accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger accounting
  • Payroll

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma with a Business and/or Accounting focus or equivalent education and experience
  • 2+ years Insurance Brokerage accounting experience
  • Knowledge and experience of accounting processes
  • Demonstrated ability to accurately calculate, post, correct, and manage accounting figures and financial records
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal;
  • Effective attention to detail; focused and have a high degree of data entry accuracy
  • Deadline oriented; strong ability to multi-task
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills
  • A professional demeanor
  • Knowledge of Broker Systems
