The AgriStability Program General Manager provides leadership for the effective development and delivery of the AgriStability farm income stabilization program. The position directs all aspects of the business and ensures that the organizational structure is in place to operate the program in an effective and efficient manner. The position leads a team of professional, technical and administrative staff in the provision of: verification and benefit determination, program communications and extension functions, research and analyses, client services, and support for operational staff. As a provincial expert in income stabilization (AgriStability), the position takes the lead role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the provincial AgriStability program within a national context where ten other provinces, one territory and the Federal government also have input. The General Manager ensures the program administration meets the unique and diverse needs of the province’s farmers, while still achieving common national agricultural income stabilization program objectives.
To be considered for this position your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have the following:

• Related university degree in agriculture, resource management, economics, business/public administration OR an acceptable combination of training and five to seven years’ experience in resource, industry or business management.
• A minimum of five years current and progressive experience in a management or senior professional capacity in the agriculture industry including experience with one or more of production insurance/reinsurance, production losses, claims processing.
• Experience managing professional and technical staff, project teams and budgets.
• Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of legislation and strategic plans and translating requirements into specific policies and procedures.
• Demonstrated experience developing and implementing policy, corporate practices and/or program evaluation.
