Full-Time Financial Analyst – Corporate Development

Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW:

Supporting all aspects of the Corporate Development function including modeling, management reporting, and other projects as required. The Analyst will be working within a small and dynamic finance team, focused on the execution of medium and long-term strategic objectives. The role will evolve over time with the development of the candidate and the growth of the business.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform analysis for corporate development functions including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, and financings
  • Develop reports on operating and financial results for internal review (senior management and Board of Directors)
  • Help to develop and implement tools for tracking and reporting on the historical performance of strategic investments and their return on investment
  • Manage relationships with assigned profit and cost centers including supporting the business leaders by developing and continually improving analyses of financial and operational performance throughout the year
  • Support other business initiatives requiring forward looking financial analysis
  • Prepare various reports and presentations as required by the CFO

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to perform analysis at a granular level while maintaining view of the big picture
  • Motivated, detail-oriented and proactive team player
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under strict deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to effectively convey implications of financial and operating results and respond to internal and external business partners
  • Willingness and ability to operate effectively beyond one’s current spectrum of expertise or experience
  • Ability to build rapport and interact professionally with all levels of employees, management, shareholders and board members

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Undergraduate Degree in Business Administration / Commerce
  • CA or CFA designation preferred
  • 2 to 4 years experience in an accounting, corporate finance or investment banking role
  • Experience with corporate finance/mergers and acquisitions an asset
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience developing presentations in PowerPoint
