The Director of Branch Operations will be responsible for working alongside and reporting to the President to deliver the strategic vision of the brokerage. This individual will be a positive, dynamic, and strong people leader who desires the challenge of leading, growing, and mentoring frontline brokerage teams in a hybrid and flexible work environment.


  • Leading, driving and supporting a frontline broker team through the implementation of Whitley’s overall strategy, operating plan, administrative budgets and processes
  • Overseeing the branch facilities and operations at multiple locations (Belleville, Trenton, Stirling)
  • Maintaining an open and transparent policy to monitor developments and workload within the team and providing support as required
  • Supporting Whitley in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with carriers
  • Coaching, mentoring and developing Personal & Commercial Insurance team members to achieve desired personal and organizational objectives
  • Leading, managing, and establishing performance expectations for multiple teams
  • Developing and establishing operating policies consistent with Whitley’s strategic vision and objectives and ensuring their adequate execution
  • Collaborating with the President on financial measurements and analysis to evaluate and establish Whitley’s business operations and to determine/forecast hiring decisions
  • Collaborating with the President on budget, goal setting, and annual compensation increases
  • Maintaining company’s best practices while ensuring legal compliancy and establishing new ones to stay competitive in the insurance marketplace
  • Exhibiting leadership style that fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, accountability and collaboration


  • Minimum 5 years of broker office management experience in the insurance industry
  • Bachelor degree in Business Management or related business experience
  • Proven experience leading a team is an asset, but the desire to lead is just as valuable
  • CAIB, CRM CIP or FCIP designation an asset
  • In-depth knowledge of insurance brokerage business practices and processes
  • Understand how products and services impact client needs and develop processes to improve quality
  • A team player who is friendly, and collaborative
  • Strong initiative, leadership and strategic thinking
  • Ability to work independently and with all levels of the organization
  • Exceptional communication, collaboration, and negotiation skills required to affect change and to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to travel between branch locations
