Job Summary:
As the Underwriting Specialist you will be responsible for underwriting complex accounts and solving complex underwriting challenges using a broad perspective to identify solutions. You will mentor and train less experienced underwriters and support staff. You will provide input to management on underwriting strategy, staffing and other issues. You will collaborate on special projects.
You bring to the table:
- University degree or College diploma
- A minimum of 7 years’ commercial underwriting experience – Property/Casualty, as well as Auto preferred
- CIP/FCIP &/or CRM
- Experience delivering training and mentorship to underwriters and support staff
- Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
- Excellent communication skills
- 1 position will require someone that is fluently bilingual (French/English)
