REPORTS TO: Commercial Underwriting Supervisor
SCHUEDULE: Full-Time, Hybrid Work-from-Home Available
DIRECT REPORTS: N/A

 

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Underwriting Assistant is responsible for assisting the Commercial Underwriting team with the day to day administration of activities. This includes: the daily collection of policy information and data entry into our Computer Management System. In addition, the successful candidate will provide clerical support to a team of Underwriters and assist in the successful completion of organizational deadlines and production goals.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:

  • Work alongside the department to provide a high level of customer service to broker partners
  • Data entry of policies into an Insurance Management System
  • Collaboration with the underwriting team and the broker partners
  • Entering policy changes into our Insurance Management System
  • Clerical duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma
  • Post-secondary education considered an asset
  • Experience in customer service
  • High Level of organization
  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office program suite
  • Problem solving skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with data entry and strong typing skills
  • High degree of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven team work and collaboration skills
  • Deadline driven
