DEPARTMENT/LOCATION:   Commercial Lines, London

POSITION:  Commercial Underwriter

Job Accountabilities:

In this position at our Branch Office in downtown London, you will underwrite and develop our Commercial/Professional portfolio for Ontario Region. With the mandate to grow profitability, maintaining exceptional working relationships with our brokers. This position requires a candidate with strong technical and underwriting expertise to provide support within the Commercial/Professional lines team. The incumbent should be an adept communicator to confidently respond to and resolve broker inquiries, and someone who is capable of making operational decisions with autonomy within your level of authority.

Qualifications & Skills Required:

• Minimum 3-5 years of company underwriting experience, handling/quoting mid-sized Specialised Liability/E&O accounts
• CIP or working towards completing CIP courses
• Good solid broker relationships
• Excellent awareness and understanding of the marketplace
• A high standard of service in handling broker queries
• Strong computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
