Job Description

Job Purpose: Under the direction of the Vice President- Head of Commercial Underwriting & Broker Management, this position will manage a portfolio of renewal business clients and new business submissions. This position will analyze and provide policy structure and premium rates for expiring client renewal programs and new business applications, develop and manage customer relationships, cultivate and develop direct sales force and/or broker relationships, provide the highest quality of customer service, assess commercial underwriting risk, review credit standing of the portfolio all in order to achieve Euler Hermes profitability and growth objectives.

Primary Responsibilities in this position:

  • Utilizing our commercial underwriting guidelines, structure and price new business and renewal policies according to our retention and profitability objectives.
  • Provide highest possible level of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • High level of interaction with Risk Underwriting to maximize approvals for a portfolio of renewal policyholders.
  • Manage customer and broker relationships with our Direct Sales Force
  • Quote/negotiate new and renewal business transactions in accordance with the Euler Hermes Commercial Underwriting Manual.
  • Be a principal driver of revenue, growth and profitability.
  • Work independently on projects assigned by the Vice President – Director on an as needed basis 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, economics, finance or related discipline.
  • 3-5 years of financial services or underwriting experience.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • French language would be an asset
  • Able to deal effectively with our Direct Sales Force, Account Managers and other departments within Euler Hermes .
  • Strong Project Management skills required.
  • Good interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Formal Credit Training program would be a plus
