Location: Markham

  • Obtain information from Clients and/or Producers to create submissions to Insurers
  • Prepare underwriting submissions, client proposals and maintain accurate documentation with respect to new submissions and renewals
  • Negotiate terms/pricing/policy conditions with Underwriters and analyze proposals with the ability to make recommendations in terms of the best options for price, coverage and risk alternatives
  • Process binders, invoices, Certificates of Insurance and other documents
  • Review policy wordings and other documentation for accuracy
  • Follow up with Insurers/Clients for outstanding information, endorsements, policy documents
  • Respond to telephone calls/written enquiries from Clients and Underwriters in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain up-to-date records, expiry lists, daily abeyances
  • Maintain receivables
  • Build & maintain strong relationships with Insurers and Clients
  • Train and mentor junior staff


  • RIBO with a minimum of two years’ Commercial Lines experience
  • Strong customer service skills in order to maintain long-term growth and retention
  • Excellent organizational, planning and prioritizing skills
  • Proactive approach to problems and issues, working ahead of potential challenges
  • Well-spoken and great interpersonal skills
  • Goal oriented, highly motivated and resourceful to achieve results
  • Positive attitude with a strong work ethic
