Full-Time Claims Clerk

Job Description

Reporting to the Team Lead, Claims Support, the Claims Clerk provides clerical support such as customer service, administrative assistance, mail processing and courier liaison, filing, organization and record management.

 

Key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Respond to and direct inquiry calls from clients, Brokers, Insurance Companies and internal staff
  • Provide instructions on how to proceed with claims
  • Directing calls to appropriate party for handling
  • Liaise with multiple departments within the Company
  • Processing new claims in various systems, entering data in systems and recording in claims Logs
  • Receive claims transaction data and record in relevant system
  • Pay small claims such as windshield repair and replacement; deal directly with vendors and provide pricing
  • Process weekly and monthly reports as required
  • Ensure claims portal is updated
  • Prepare weekly deposits
  • Responsible for printing claims cheques, scanning and preparing for mailing
  • Sort and process all incoming and outgoing mail for the Department
  • Coordinate the maintenance of office equipment with Office Services department
  • Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked
  • Perform arithmetical operations quickly and accurately
  • Other duties as required

 

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of completed high school education
  • One to two years clerical experience preferred
  • College or experience equivalent would be an asset
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Organized and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Multi- tasker for a fast paced environment
