Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide professional and timely phone support to participating members/customers
• Support various servicing projects as required to execute on the service deliverables of the sponsored groups working with the Programs Lead
• Respond to daily enquiries ensuring requests are handled within the servicing guidelines
• Resolve customer problems independently and efficiently
• Monitor and support annual renewals and non-renewals ensuring customers and regulatory needs are met
• Process and assist the Programs Lead on new business efforts, including gathering underwriting information based on sponsored group program guidelines
• Processing work including all underwriting forms and applications, invoicing entries and handling Third Party Certificate requests
• Monitor all inter client / insurer transactions, and advising staff of updates
• Processing of all underwriting forms and applications
• Remains knowledgeable of industry trends and office procedures, particularly those related to customer service and retention
• Refers higher underwriting authority to Supervisors
• Other miscellaneous administrative and clerical functions as required
Knowledge, Skills and other qualifications:
• High School diploma, certificate or official equivalent
• Possesses at least 5 to 10 years of experience in P&C, customer service with sound underwriting knowledge, commercial experience preferred
• Broker’s license (AB and BC required at a minimum), and enrolment in other insurance courses encouraged
• Possesses and demonstrates strong verbal and written communication skills with clients
• Exhibit personal characteristics appropriate for dealing with unhappy or irate customers
• Ability to work with various software products necessary to perform job satisfactorily including EPIC
• Ability to read, comprehend, and process tasks by written and oral instructions according to assigned workflows and compliance guidelines
• Knowledge of business English, punctuation, spelling, and other office procedures
• Strong command over interpersonal skills and provides assistance co-operatively and courteously
• Independently carry out assignments
• Works well in a team environment
• Bilingual would be considered as an asset
