Full-Time Branch Manager

Job Description

Under broad managerial direction and consistent with established standards of excellence in customer service, manages the day to day operation of the insurance branch to ensure the delivery of quality insurance services to customers in the community in accordance with established regulatory requirements, company policies and procedures, and branch service standards. Leads, directs and supervises a team of licensed insurance representatives, brokers and/or specialists to ensure the effective utilization of human resources and to promote motivation and professionalism within the team. Is knowledgeable in Personal Lines products including Auto, Personal Property, and Travel. Responsible for the growth and servicing of the branch Commercial Insurance portfolio. Capitalizes on opportunities to increase market penetration in the local area and contributes to the company’s overall marketing plan and growth objectives through local advertising and awareness campaigns. Participates as an active member of the Branch Insurance Management Team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Candidates must hold a Level 3 General Insurance Agent Licence within 60 days, in accordance with Insurance Council of BC’s education and experience requirements) PLUS
  • CIP or CAIB designation
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in an insurance environment and 1 year in a leadership position OR
  • A two year diploma in Business Administration from a recognized college, technical school or university plus 5 years experience in an insurance environment and 1 year in a leadership position
  • Working knowledge of insurance system applications (such as EPIC, Applied Rating Services, ICBC systems), office automation software such as Word, Excel and Outlook, internet access plus demonstrated keyboarding skills
  • Candidates must also demonstrate proficiency in the following:

– Ability to communicate positively in a sales and service environment, both verbally and in writing

– Proven leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team of sales professionals in achieving sales excellence

– Ability to provide service-oriented solutions to customers and staff

– Ability to organize work to meet deadlines within an environment of constantly changing priorities
