Full-Time Associate Insurance Advisor 2
Job Description
Position Title: Associate Insurance Advisor II.
Company: David Myra Agency | The Co-operators.
Location: Barrhaven/Nepean.
The Associate Insurance Advisor II is a key player in the growth and development of our local, well established insurance agency, primarily through sales and service of The Co-operators insurance products and services, including Home, Life & Wealth, and Commercial products. This is an office-based position, requiring the successful career candidate to work on a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities:
- Sales, service and growth of all product lines.
- Advise and recommend coverages and policies that best meet client needs.
- Actively focus on prospecting for all lines of business, by identifying and recommending additional products/services, that benefit the client.
- Complete front-line risk assessment and selection (following Underwriting Guidelines).
- Complete inspections and re-inspections.
- Achieve individual goals in sales, quality and productivity, and contribute to Agency goals.
- Support programs to build multi-product client relationships.
- Proactively complete client reviews on existing portfolios.
Qualifications and Skills:
- General Insurance License (OTL) and a Life License required.
- Must be committed to continuing education courses for personal and professional improvement, and meet all Provincial Licensing requirements on an ongoing basis.
- A minimum of 2 years insurance industry experience, including successful sales experience is an asset.
- Must be a “self-starter”, skilled in communication (verbal/written), and able to manage your own time effectively.

- A Personal Profile (suitability) Test must be written, showing suitable indicators for success in this career.
- As a condition of employment, the successful candidate will be subject to Criminal Record and Consumer History background checks.
- Candidate must be comfortable in a technology-dependent environment (Microsoft Office experience an asset).
- Valid driver’s license and own vehicle required.
