Accountant Bookkeeper      

Our client, a successful Insurance Brokerage in the Oakville area is looking to hire an experienced Bookkeeper. Good salary, benefits, etc.

Responsibilities include:

  • Bank Deposits, Disbursements & NSF cheques
  • Online Banking / (EFT) Electronic Funds Transfer / Wire Transfers
  • Accounts Receivable – Aged Accounts
  • Accounts Payable, Insurance Company Payables, Direct Bill accounts reconciliation
  • Accounts Payable – General
  • Income & Expense Statements / Balance Sheet
  • General Ledger
  • Interim Monthly Financial Statements
  • Retail Sales Tax (HST) remittance
  • Bank statements, Bank reconciliations, Trust and General Accounts management Canadian accounts / U.S. accounts
  • HR Employee Management – Adding and Deleting – Providing Employment Letters
  • Payroll, T4 and T4A Income slips
  • Year End Adjusting Journal Entries
  • Trust Investment Documents
  • Shareholder Loans / Advances / Dividends
  • RIBO Position Report with working papers
  • Continuing Education Certificates – record for all licensed individuals

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma with a Business and/or Accounting focus or equivalent education and experience
  • 5 years Insurance Brokerage accounting experience
  • Knowledge of Broker Systems
