Full-Time Business Development Representative
Job Description
Cansure is growing and we are seeking a Business Development Representative to work with our brokers and support our transactional product strategy. Based in either our Vancouver or Toronto office and reporting to the Sales & Distribution Manager, this role requires the successful candidate to be a self-starter, with existing knowledge and familiarity of commercial or personal lines within the P&C insurance industry.
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
- Main focus on marketing personal lines products and our ecommerce platform
- Cross-selling specialty products by providing broker education and resources
- Coordinate, manage and attend industry conventions
- Understand, analyze and interpret portfolio management data
- Provide training on an ad-hoc basis to brokers for all Cansure products
- Play an integral role supporting the Cansure portal with our broker partners – from onboarding the systems at broker offices to administrative management of the portal
- Broker relationship management – act as a main point of contact for feedback, problem solving, and escalating any concerns to upper management as necessary.
- Coordinate the Cansure Symposium Series – assist with the coordination of each event at various locations across the country, work with provincial institutes to achieve accredited status for seminars
- Execute business development activities as defined by our broker segmentation strategy
- Work closely with the Sales & Distribution Manager on various marketing projects as required
To be successful, the candidate should possess the following:
- Minimum 3 years in the property and casualty insurance industry
- CIP, CRM, CAIB designations are an asset
- Confident speaking in front of small groups
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint programs
- Highly organized
- Detail oriented
- Self-motivated
- Adapts to change easily
- Able to travel by air and car for business purposes
- Possess a valid driver’s license and own vehicle for business travel
- Preference to candidates with broad current broker relationships
