Salary $60,230.00- $68,760.70 annually
The Ministry of Agriculture works to promote an innovative, adaptive and globally competitive agrifoods sector for the benefit of all British Columbians. The agrifoods sector- agriculture, fisheries, aquaculture and processing – is an important and successful contributor to the B.C. economy. The Ministry of Agriculture’s Business Risk Management Branch (BRMB) provides agricultural risk management products and services that help farmers and farm organizations proactively manage uncertainty through the delivery of production insurance, income stabilization and wildlife damage compensation programs.
The AgriStability Operations Supervisor oversees and successfully coordinates the delivery of program information and enrolment; program application assessment and verification; and, benefit adjudication and payment for multiple agricultural commodities across a region and in compliance with national and provincial requirements. This role provides regional and commodity input into targets and resource requirements, and organizes, coordinates and facilitates the delivery of operational services and activities.
Qualifications for this role include:
- University degree or diploma in a field related to agronomy, business administration, accounting, or public administration. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered OR Secondary school graduation plus post-secondary courses in agriculture or accounting and 5 years’ directly related, current and progressive experience in agricultural risk management programs or the agricultural accounting sector. • A minimum of 3 years of recent experience (gained in the last 7 years) supervising staff and/or leading a program, responsible for motivating, influencing, and directing people, including performance management.
