As an Auto Unit Claims Manager you will be responsible for providing leadership and technical expertise to a team of claims professionals. You and your team will be accountable for providing quality service, completing work processes effectively and efficiently, and continuously identifying areas of improvement. You will:
- Provide leadership and manage team operations to achieve Intact’s key business goals
- Select, lead, mentor, manage performance and develop staff
- Act in a consultative and advisory capacity on liability determination, investigation, policy interpretation, settlement negotiation and reserve establishment for claims
- Resolve complex claims related issues and/or escalated problems
- Identify and recommend changes to policies and/or processes to improve business results and maintain competitiveness
- Participate in budget making; and recruitment and hiring of your team

Your Skills
|
|
|
|
|
|
- University degree/college diploma preferred
- Ongoing commitment to self-development
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience at supervisory/managerial level
- Leadership skills including ability to motivate and coach staff to deliver results
- Strong technical skills in automobile claims – experience in dealing with legal and regulatory policy interpretation and implementation
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Previous claims handling experience in the automobile damage field (preferred)
- Experience working in a contact centre environment and exposure to call centre systems such as Symposium would be an asset
