POSITION: Underwriting Assistant –New Business
DEPARTMENT: Personal Lines Sales
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Sales Director (through New Business Underwriter)

JOB SUMMARY: The incumbent will provide administrative support to the other members of the team (New Business Team Leader and Account Executives) and thereby to clients who have vehicle and/or habitational policies.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• Working closely with the New Business Underwriter and Account Executives:
• check applications for accuracy, missing consent forms, ownerships, RCT’s, HIT’s, signatures etc.; return to AE’s if incomplete
• Setting up new customers screens
• Setting up of new applications including attachments
• Entering additional info from completed applications
• Preparing certificates of insurance, binders, and liability certificates
• Invoicing and preparing letters to clients
• Preparing correspondence to insurance companies
• Setting and reviewing suspense’s according to the relevant task
• Performing uploads to Insurer web-sites or portals
• Run daily MVR reports and distribute
• Download and distribute the Ez-leads
• Document when quotes and applications are received from Account Executives, as required
• Create weekly list of new business applications and send to the Life/Health division for cross-sell opportunities
• Continue to set up suspense for first and second temporary liability certificates; third temporary liability certificate to be prepared and sent by the Account Administrator in Select or Sterling.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Formal training in general business practices
• Minimum of one year of general insurance experience
• Good computer skills
• R.I.B.O. license considered an asset

• Managing incoming and outgoing customer calls
• Maintain client records; handling endorsements, renewals, and claims reports
• Ability to Quote New Business opportunities (prepare a submission and put out to market)
• Continually develop product, client and industry knowledge
• Proactive servicing & reviews, cross-selling and up-selling, and claims counseling
• Must have superior customer sales skills and a desire to build relationships with clients
• Commitment to exceeding customer expectations in all situations
Qualifications:
• Minimum 3 years in COMMERCIAL property casualty insurance experience
• RIBO Licence or equivalent
• Working knowledge of Broker Management tools and Company Portals
• Working knowledge of various insurance market underwriting rules
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Determination to meet retention goals
• A positive and energetic attitude towards customer needs
• Strong organizational skills
• A college diploma or university degree, ideally in the business field is an asset

We are looking for a RIBO Licensed Customer Service Representative to join our Personal Lines team. Please advise your current fee and If you know anyone who would be interested in applying please let me know

Primary responsibilities include:
• Providing exceptional day to day customer service to clients – answering client questions and addressing concerns
• Processing policy changes
• Maintain professional relationships with Insurers and underwriters
• Assist and provide support to producers when required
• Claims reporting on behalf of the client
• Renewal reviews and remarketing policies as required

Qualifications:
• RIBO licensed with minimum 3 years customer service experience within an insurance brokerage setting
• Good working knowledge of personal lines insurance policies and coverages
• Proficient in the use of Computers and Applications – working knowledge of C.Q. and Power Brokers, Insurance company portals, Microsoft
• A team player with a sound work ethic
• Very strong attention to detail
• Strong multi-tasking and time management skills
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
