Job Description

Our client is looking for Telephone Auto Claims Adjusters. We are looking for candidates who are ready to start a career with training and advancement opportunities. Selected candidates will be placed in a training program to gain the necessary skills, knowledge, and license to adjust auto claims. There is a lot of opportunity for continued education and growth within the claims world.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Investigates and negotiates minor to complex auto claims that include collision, comprehensive, and physical damage. These claims will require a moderate amount of investigation to accurately determine coverage and liability based on the reported facts. This will be done by conducting interviews with people involved in the accident, looking over police reports, and negotiating estimates for repairs with the body shop.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Dealing with Insureds in a respectful and professional manner, providing exceptional customer service
  • Ensure prompt handling and equitable settlement of claims, utilizing thorough knowledge of the Insurance Act of Alberta, Traffic Safety Act and Inter-Company Settlement Agreement
  • Interpret insurance policy wordings and determine policy coverage
  • Investigate losses and determine liability
  • Negotiate with insured, claimants, lawyers and insurers
  • Mitigate rental and tow storage costs
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

  • Experience within insurance or related industry an asset
  • Post-secondary and/ or actively pursuing CIP designation is preferred
  • Strong customer service, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proven negotiation, investigation, problem solving skills and analytical
  • Detail oriented with high degree of data accuracy and integrity
  • Excellent computer literacy and keyboarding skills
