Reporting to the Director of Broking, you play a key role in developing and retaining business for our Commercial clients. You enjoy negotiating and building long term relations with insurance underwriters as well as leveraging your technical insurance knowledge to prepare effective proposals and reports. Having a good understanding of Insurance marketplace, you work in the fast paced environment to provide timely quotes for our clients.
Major Responsibilities:
– Provide accurate and timely quotation terms and conditions for Account Executives to increase and retain client business.
– Co-ordinate and develop marketing initiatives for clients, which includes negotiating – Support the growth of Commercial lines business using traditional marketing initiatives.
– Work with the Director of Broking and key stakeholders in developing and executing insurance marketing strategy.
– Actively participate in pricing, policy conditions and terms with insurance providers.
– Effectively build new relations and maintain current relationships with insurance carriers to properly place business.
– Provide expert technical insurance advice to Account Executives, Account Managers, and IBU staff in order to increase sales.
– Prepare and analyze reports in order to provide accurate and relevant broking business intelligence.
– Act as a Primary liaison between insurers and Account Executives
– Obtain the most favorable terms on new business and renewals re-markets to increase new business review and improve account retention
– Review insurer quotes and submit to producers and /or CAMs for preparation of proposals of insurance
Qualifications:
– Post-secondary diploma/degree; preference in business/insurance
– RIBO licensed, CRM, or CIP
– 5+ years’ experience in commercial marketing/underwriting/broking role within a brokerage
– 7+ years in the insurance industry, dealing with mid markets and commercial – Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel
– Strong communication and multi-tasking ability
