Full-Time Senior Broker
Job Description
Reporting to the Director of Broking, this position is responsible for all functions relating to the broking and placement of new and renewal commercial insurance accounts while working closely with Account Executives, Account Managers and Insurers.
Major Responsibilities:
– Provide accurate and timely quotation terms and conditions for Account Executives to increase and retain client sales.
– Effectively build new contacts and maintain current relationships with Insurers to properly place business.
– Provide expert technical insurance advice to Account Executives, Account Managers, and IBU staff in order to increase sales.
– Prepare and analyze reports in order to provide accurate and relevant broking business intelligence.
– Act as a Primary liaison between insurers and Account Executives
– Obtain the most favorable terms on new business and renewals re-markets to increase new business review and improve account retention
– Review insurer quotes and submit to producers and /or CAMs for preparation of proposals of insurance
– Prepare marketing summer for new business and renewal re-markets if required by producer
– Bind coverage with insurers as advised.
Qualifications:
– Post-secondary diploma/degree; preference in business/insurance
– RIBO licensed
– 5+ years’ experience in commercial marketing/underwriting/broking role within a brokerage
– 7+ years in the insurance industry, dealing with mid markets and commercial accounts.
– Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel
