Our client is an extremely successful family-owned business located in the west-end of Edmonton. They are seeking an experienced Controller to perform all financial and full-cycle accounting duties. The successful candidate will be extremely organized, results-driven, analytical, and have exceptional communication skills.

This role requires interfacing with clients with regards to purchases and a customer-service focused personality is a must! Responsibilities:

  • Prepare month-end reports and year-end reports
  • Perform bank reconciliations and full-cycle accounting duties as needed
  • Oversee US wire transfers, account payable, and auditing of all purchases
  • Performing Controller function for two locations in Alberta
  • Supervise a small accounting team
  • Liaise and interface with clients when needed to ensure exceptional customer service

Qualifications:

  • Accounting designation would be an asset but not required
  • 10+ years of experience in a similar role; experience performing the Controller function in a retail or wholesale environment would be an asset
  • Detail-oriented and persistent candidates will thrive in this role
  • A self-starter who can perform well with little supervision
  • An easy-going and amiable personality would fit in best with the laid-back office environment
