Job Description
Title: Product Analyst/Annuities
Location: Toronto, ON
Reports to: TBD
Job Description
The candidate will manage and perform the product analysis function, with respect to the client’s software which is designed to support quantitative analysis and ranking of various annuity products in the U.S. Market.
Job Responsibilities
Primary
- Product analysis:
- Reviewing published product materials and regulatory product filings for various annuity products in the U.S. Marketplace
- Evaluating product data, formulae and mechanics to confirm:
- If the designated team must be engaged with respect to product vetting, modelling or research
- If current systems capabilities can accommodate the required product formulae and mechanics (or if the product must be facilitated through change management)
Secondary
- Product operations & administration:
- Collecting & inventorying products and product information (data)
- Defining processes and procedures, and managing templates, documentation and workflows to support the required processes and procedures
- Managing and prioritising product additions and updates
- Facilitating data updates and data maintenance on the software system (directly, or with the support of dedicated operations & administration resources)
- Managing internal data quality assurance and testing controls and processes
- Working with internal partners and external customers to facilitate change management:
- Participating in the development of the client’s strategic roadmap, to evolve and enhance the service
- Identifying scope with respect to system changes, to address new or modified product or system capabilities, including:
- Functional changes (including inputs to / outputs from the system)
- Data requirements (for analysis and modelling)
- Changes to the system to address formulaic and mechanical requirements
- Engaging and working with the necessary internal resources to vet and facilitate change, including:
- Information Technology
- Quantitative Analysis
- Business Analysis
- Operations & Administration
- Project Management
Job Requirements
- BS/BA/BMath degree or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years of product analyst experience or related role
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills, and ability to deconstruct and simplify complex concepts
- Excellent communication, facilitation and problem solving skills
- Experience in the following areas an asset:
- User experience and designing customer focused collateral (e.g. designing illustrations)
- Retirement markets or financial services (Sales and / or Compliance)
- Business analysis and / or project management
- Product strategy development and change management
- Product and / or software development and programming languages
- Financial regulations (DoL, FINRA, etc.) and regulatory filings (prospectuses, etc.)
- Training, support and relationship management skills
- Mathematics, quantitative analysis, or actuarial science
