Full-Time Personal Lines Claims Representative
Job Description
As a Personal Lines claims representative…
- You would handle all of the regular and VIP Claims which means that you should be experienced dealing with the “retail” client and the “High Net worth” client. The VIP clients perhaps know more about insurance.
- You would have empathy for the clients.
- You may periodically be dealing with the elderly who may need coverages to be explained very clearly
- You would need to be able to handle a duo line call with Intact, AVIVA and Travelers.
- You should be prepared to be inundated with claims calls and know how to handle and manage your time
What would make you good?
- To know P/L insurance especially the water clauses. They have recently changed from no coverage to limited coverage to full coverage. Each insurer is different. Sewer back-up has also changed.
- Again, to have empathy.
- To have a good telephone voice and manner.
- To be able to follow the Claims Manual, do follow-ups, etc.
- To know how to handle adjusters – both inside and outside – in order to have your client’s claim settled quickly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
RIBO License is mandatory with 3-5 years broker experience
TAM experience
Claims experience
Excellent customer service skills and compassion for clients
