Aon Is Looking For A Personal Insurance Broker *12 Month Contract *
As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions as part of our Personal Insurance team within Aon Reed Stenhouse in Victoria, BC. As a Personal Insurance Broker, you will report directly to the Personal Lines Team Lead.

Your Impact As A Personal Insurance Broker
Job Responsibilities:
- Providing information to customers in response to customer inquiries on products/services, converting a high percentage to new sales opportunities;
- Analyzing customer inquiries by providing information on products/services;
- Matching customer needs to insurance company’s products/services;
- Meeting established sales and service targets;
- Generating new business opportunities by recommending products/services where appropriate;
- Up-selling or cross-selling products/services to existing clients;
- Updating customer records on computer system;
- Contacting other departments to obtain information requested by customers i.e. claims;
- Resolving customer concern/complaints within authority limits;
- Providing post sales customer service (i.e. policy changes;
- Reviewing coverage(s) and recommends changes as necessary;
- Maintaining quality controls, checks work for accuracy;
- Managing accounts receivable;
- Processing documents, including customer letters and invoices (as needed or directed);
- Referring complex/difficult customer complaints/inquiries to team leader or supervisor;
- Maintaining general knowledge and understanding of all personal property and auto insurance products/services;
- Providing telephone coverage support (as directed); and
- Performing other related duties as required.
You Bring Knowledge and Expertise
Required Experience:
- Minimum two (2) to three (3) years of personal property and auto insurance experience required;
- Experience working in an inbound and outbound call center type environment;
- Ability to establish a rapport, assess and identify cross selling opportunities over the phone;
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills, both verbally and written;
- Client focused and proven relationship building skills;
- Ability to work collaboratively as a key member of a team and independently with minimum supervision;
- Meticulous attention to detail, refined organizational skills and the ability to multi-task;
- Proven ability to prioritize competing requirements and deadlines under pressure;
- Must have strong computer skills and be proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
Preferred Experience:
- Three (3) to five (5) years of personal property and auto insurance is preferred;
- Experience working with multiple insurers an asset;
- Previous experience working in a high volume; production based environment an asset;
- Functional knowledge of EPIC system is an asset.
Education:
- Post-Secondary degree or a combination of education and equivalent years of industry experience;
- General Insurance Level One (1) License required;
- General Insurance Level Two (2) License preferred, or a willingness to obtain within 3 months;
- Commitment to ongoing learning and professional development including insurance courses and certifications (i.e. Canadian Accredited Insurance Broker (CAIB) / Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP)).
