Job Description

Summary

The National Director of  Business Development will hold direct responsibility for acquisition of new clients, and the establishment of productive and profitable relationships with external organizations.  The National Director of Business Development will conduct market research. Key elements of this position will include the assessment of operational issues regarding competitiveness, the ability to stay current in trends and innovations that impact our business interests, and the thorough review of research, feasibility studies and business plans for the improvement, development and customization of products and services. He/She will also collaborate and assist with the direction of the business development representatives of the individual franchise offices.

Job Duties

Ensure that appropriate sales goals are developed and achieved.
Execute strategic marketing plans.
Maintain productive, profitable and friendly business relationships with clients, and potential clients.
Network effectively in efforts to acquire new clients.
Acquire new clients.
Take appropriate actions to increase the visibility and stature of the organization.
Review research, feasibility studies and business plans to develop strategies for the improvement, development and customization of products and services.
Create appropriate strategies to ensure competitive edge.
Conduct and assign market research and analysis.
Promote the mission and values of the organization both internally and externally.
Assess operational issues in regards to competitiveness, staying current in terms of current trends and innovations.
Stay up to date with external and internal developments in the environment for identifying new market segments.
Carry out feasibility studies/business plans for product or service improvement, customizing, re-modeling and new product / service development.
Create marketing campaigns for new products and services including budgeting and expenditure planning.
Responsible for overseeing the production of brochures and other print materials as well as electronic materials.
Develop a process to gather continuous feedback from clients.
Maintain and develop knowledge of client’s products, guidelines,  and processes.
Collaborate & provide direction for the business development representatives across Canada, ensuring appropriate training and guidance are provided.
Organize, Plan and Attend Industry Events
Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

University Degree or College Diploma in a related field.
Experience in the insurance/restoration industry.
Minimum 5 year’s experience in a Business Development Management position.
Minimum 10 year’s experience in Business Development.
Ability to lead a team effectively.
Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships both internally and externally.
Ability to create, and assess feasibility studies.
Commitment to providing excellent customer service.
Strong analytical and research skills.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship management skills.
Excellent organizational, strategic, planning and implementing skills.
Ability to process vague, abstract verbal and written instructions.
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
