We are seeking a Manager, Insurance Services within our Valley First region at our Fruit Union insurance office location in Vernon, BC.

 

The Manager, Insurance Services provides sales leadership to the personal lines staff within the insurance branch with energies directed toward financial growth and maintenance of existing personal insurance business; ensures branch sales, business partner referrals, business development and financial success targets are met; manages and provides leadership to all assigned personal lines staff; oversees the renewal of expiring branch policies; maintains control over all accounting and collection activities; promotes Insurance services and products with external clients, along with relationship building and community involvement.

 

Here’s what would be included as a part of your typical day:

  • Provide sales leadership to assigned personal lines staff by ensuring branch strategies, business plans and operations are aligned with the strategic direction and critical success factors; ensure branch sales, business partner referrals, business development and financial success targets are met through the development and application of a consultative sales environment and through the application of effective administrative and operational procedures.
  • Contribute to sound fiscal management through continual monitoring and control of branch expenses.
  • Respond to client escalations, issues and concerns with quality or product offerings and promotes the building of long term client relationships.
  • Supervise and provide leadership to all assigned personal lines insurance staff to ensure the effective utilization of human resources and to promote motivation and teamwork by overseeing day to day activities, coaching Autoplan Agents and Personal Insurance Brokers on the marketing, quotation and other technical aspects associated with personal insurance risks, scheduling staff to ensure service levels are met, participating with the manager in the selection, orientation and training of new staff and ensuring all licensing levels are maintained, evaluating performance of assigned staff and consulting with manager on issues affecting pay, performance and employee development as required.
  • Oversee the efficient and timely servicing of expiring policies to ensure continuing client coverage; oversee the marketing and renewal process including abeyance expiry dates for follow up.
  • Oversee all accounting functions and collection of premiums for business within the personal lines account; monitor aged accounts receivables to ensure tight financial controls are in place; oversee collection of delinquent accounts by initiating collection activity or providing advice to Personal Lines Brokers on required actions, monitoring status of delinquencies and referring to insurance administration where collection attempts are unsuccessful.

Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of post secondary business related courses or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Level 3 General Insurance License.
  • CAIB, CIP, AIIC or CCIB designation.
  • 5 years of experience in sales and promotion of the full range of personal insurance products and services.
  • Take responsibility for self-development and continuous learning to achieve required knowledge for the job.
