Position Summary:  The purpose of the Industry Relations Manager position is twofold:  1) To broaden the relationship between industry and CSIO and lead collaborative member engagement initiatives; 2) To raise the profile of CSIO by planning and implementing a wide range of educational and communications initiatives.

This position will be based out of CSIO’s Toronto office.

Key Responsibilities:

              Create Member Initiatives

?         Lead member engagement initiatives by developing, promoting, and delivering educational programs that are innovative and responsive to member needs, including but not limited to developing and facilitating steering committees, producing webinars, conducting presentations and creating educational materials

?         Working with members, identify new opportunities to address technology and workflow pain points and develop project plans for the implementation of new technology solutions that resolve identified issues

?         Partner with Marketing and Communications teams to develop and drive effective, relevant and timely member communications and educational resources (i.e. broker best practices)

Build Member Relationships

?         Establish excellent working relationships with CSIO members, industry regulators, broker relations teams, broker associations and other key stakeholders

?          Develop and implement an ongoing strategy for the identification, prospecting and stewardship of CSIO members and external partners that will lead to research and educational collaborations that will advance CSIO?s mandate

Keep up with Industry Trends

?         Continuously monitor emerging technologies and trends within the insurance industry, and develop strategies that further CSIO?s mandate to improve the consumer?s ease of doing business

?         Identify and report on key industry trends and issues to senior management with recommendations

Qualifications:

?         Bachelor?s degree in business, marketing, communications or public relations

?         Minimum 5 years of professional business experience

?         Ability to develop networks and build relationships with a diverse range of groups

?         Training, consensus-building and/or facilitation experience (i.e. working groups, workshops, focus groups)

?         Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral communication skills, including presentations to clients/members (public speaking experience preferred)

?         A penchant for creative problem solving, attention to detail, ability to adapt, and exceptional work ethic

?         Demonstrated mastery of project management and strong ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects within a frequently changing work environment

?         Proven ability to take initiative, champion a project from conception through implementation to evaluation

?         Highly motivated to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

Preferences:

?         MBA or Master?s Degree

?         Experience in Property & Casualty insurance and/or technology industries is an asset
