Your Job
We are looking for a Field Claims Representative, one year secondment position within Casualty COE. This position reports to the Ontario Casualty Field Adjuster Team. The successful candidate will be responsible to conduct field investigation as necessary, to support the inside adjusters / examiners. Expected to handle tasks assignment within the GTA, primarily Metro and East Toronto area.
Location: this position is located in our Ajax or Toronto office.
Responsibilities:
Investigate and Evaluate Claims
•Investigate losses of various complexity.
•Conduct investigations to clarify circumstances of the claim.
•Conduct interviews with claimants, employers, legal representatives and other individuals in the investigation of claims.
•Conduct scene investigations in the analysis of both auto and non-auto type claims while adhering to our Adjuster’s Handbook and Best Practices document.
•Review and requisition appropriate reports or documents in the preparation of investigation activities.
•Execute on quality and timeliness of investigation of tasks as per Adjuster’s Handbook and Best Practices document.
Managing Work Efficiently and Adherence to Work Processes
•Comply with reporting guidelines as outlined in the Adjuster’s Handbook and Best Practices document
•Effectively manage expenses, including the cost-effective use of mobile tools and equipment.
•Measure and monitor personal productivity and technical quality.
•Manage workload turnaround days.
Providing Exceptional Quality Service
•Respond to queries relating to investigation and the claims process.
• Maintain effective communication channels and liaises with file handler or experts on technical and administrative processes.
•Anticipate customer’s needs and offers solutions.
•Adapt communication style to customers.

•Proven proficiency with company’s various computer systems, i.e. ClaimCentre, eCM and other

Knowledge
•Possess knowledge of auto and non-auto liability policies, therefore knowledge of liability and coverage issues relevant to the claim
•An understanding of casualty claims handling principles and coverage analysis as applied to field adjusting
•Ability to gather and evaluate facts at a loss location
• Ability to prepare a well-reasoned report, that file handler/examiner can rely to support their management of claim files.
Required Experience

•Minimum 2 to 3 years casualty claims handling experience
•Must possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record
Education
•Bachelors Degree or College Diploma, and
•Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation (preferred), or
•Progress towards a CIP designation, proof of CIP exams completion during the last six months

Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada for the duration of the work term. Proof of eligibility for temporary roles may come in the form of a Canadian birth certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian citizenship certificate, permanent residence card or confirmation and/or a Canadian work permit, which authorizes you to work for the duration of the assignment.
