What does a Compliance Analyst look like at Western?

Reporting to the Team Lead, our Compliance Analysts work within the departments who support our network of retail branches across western Canada. Every member of the team, in every department, has a direct influence on our ability to deliver results, through the excellent service and support they provide.

The success of you and your team stems from your ability to effectively manage the review of broker standards and workflows; and make recommendations for improvement.  You have the opportunity to be part of a collaborative and motivated team who all contribute to the achievement of business goals and targets.

  • Collect, analyze and verify information and data to determine whether records and reports contain accurate, reliable, complete and useful information
  • Site visits to audit the branch and brokers on compliance with
  • Prepare written reports; including objectives, scope, sources of information used, findings; and make recommendations as a result of the audit
  • Perform follow-up activities to ensure timely implementation of recommendations made after the branch visits to ensure the adoption of standard operating procedures and to assess the overall improvement of results
  • Work with supporting business units to identify process improvements and develop training based on the individual branch needs
  • Assists business units by researching and responding to routine inquiries related to our policies and procedures

What we are looking for:

Being successful in this role requires an ability to manage a variety of tasks and deadlines while delivering excellent service, and contributing to a positive work environment by encompassing our Guiding Principles.

  • General Insurance license is required
  • Superior knowledge of Personal and Commercial Lines insurance is essential
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to break down complex situations into manageable parts
  • Ability to apply critical thought processes when developing solutions and recommendations
  • Working knowledge of enterprise and desktop applications (Epic, Broker Applications, and Microsoft Office)
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal

Specifics:

  • Work from Home
  • 50% Travel per week
  • Territory Coverage: MB/SK
  • Full Time – 37.5 hours/week
