Full-Time Commercial Marketing & Program Underwriting Associate

Position Summary:

HUB International continues to grow and seeking a strong Commercial Marketing and Program Underwriting Associate to join the Corporate Marketing team in Oakville and providing support to assigned programs. This is an ideal role for someone with strong attention to detail, ability to work and adapt to different technologies and insurance systems, and possesses strong relationship management and underwriting skills. This role reports to the Manager of Marketing.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as key underwriting contact for assigned programs on a day to day basis.
- Policy preparation and Issuance to clients/brokers including creating client spreadsheets
- Renewal administration: creating monthly renewal lists and updating underwriting information in insurance system
- Negotiating with program markets on risks that fall outside of Underwriting authority
- Underwriting of Renewal/New Business risks within underwriting guidelines
- Policy administration: preparation of bordereau documents for submission to Insurer
- Data entry of policies and running reports in various systems:, Policy Works, and Epic
- Claims administration: follow up with Adjusters on Claims including reserve changes, Quarterly Claims analysis
- Weekly approvals and finalizing of endorsements, cancellations and new business.
- Managing email inboxes for new submissions, binding requests, and other documentation as required.
- Reviewing of submissions to market and preparation of proposals to clients.
- Assisting with pre-underwriting information gathering, submission, coverage analysis, and proposal presentations if needed.
- Executing a quality control process for policies and quotations delivered assuring coverage, condition, rating and pricing accuracy.
- Effectively building relationships with insurance company underwriters through a pattern of professional risk submissions and fair negotiations.
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of market underwriting appetite, line of business trends, insurance company changes, rating technique and coverage development.
- Understanding of our company utilization strategies by appropriate risk submissions.
- Manage Underwriter visits and market seminars
- Commercial Marketing support back up
- Other related duties as may be required.
Education & Skills:
- College Diploma or University Degree or equivalent work experience
- Experience in Policy Works and Epic an asset
- Effective management of competing demands and projects
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel (management of program), and Outlook
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Good interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written skills
- Strong customer service, collaboration and relationship management skills
- Insurance brokerage or underwriting knowledge or experience desired
- Knowledge of commercial lines coverages and markets
- High energy, detail-oriented self-starter
