GREAT OPPORTUNITY – COMMERCIAL LINES ACCOUNT MANAGER – ST CATHARINES
Job Summary:
The Commercial Lines Account Manager works closely with Producer(s) performing a high level of support, service, and related tasks. The objective of this position is to provide service beyond expectation to all clients, companies and colleagues, always applying the foundation of our Group Core Values, “Integrity, Competency and Empathy”, while adhering to all Group procedures and standards.
Service Responsibilities:
In collaboration with Producers (and at times independently) assess clients’ needs and provide accurate documentation to cover clients exposures
Provide solutions to client issues to their satisfaction while meeting insurer obligations
Always be working proactively to retain accounts
Ensure accurate and timely servicing and billing of accounts
New Business and Rewrites:
Place new clients with insurers in accordance with their binding authorities and underwriting guidelines
Adhere to Group new business guidelines and protocols with appropriate selection of business and documentation both to the client and on WINTAM
Be responsible for the input of standard applications in WINTAM as received by the Producer and for the preparation of proposals for prospects and existing clients as required
Be responsible for the review and accuracy of all policy documents prior to delivery to the client
Advise producers of any limitations of coverage
Endorsements:
Obtain and record all pertinent information as well as required documentation needed for the requested change
Process customer changes in a timely and efficient manner
Renewals:
Review renewals for accuracy (exclusions, warranties). Contact the producer to address coverage needs or gaps and discuss any further insurance requirements.
Adhere to Group renewal review guidelines and protocols
Qualifications:
RIBO license and working on or completion of CAIB
Excellent people skills, with experience collaborating in a diverse dynamic team
Good communication skills
Proven effectiveness in service
Positive, supportive and enthusiastic team member
Enthusiasm towards work with a passionate desire for meeting challenges
Flexible and a self-starter, able to multi-task
Strong understanding of Customer and Insurance market dynamics and requirements
Personal qualities of integrity, empathy, strong work ethic, credibility and a commitment to the brokerage’s Vision and Values
Claims:
Coach the client on the loss in order to enable them to make an informed decision on how to proceed,
Complete claims report and transmit to the Insuring Company. Enter a LOSS activity in WINTAM to follow up on policy changes required as a result of the loss. Advise Insurance Company of the required policy changes if required.
Follow-up with the client to ensure satisfaction with Claims Handling
Non-Renewal:
Advise client by registered letter of non-renewal. Be prepared with an alternative market for the insured to ensure no lapse in coverage.
Cancellations:
If the client requests cancellation, explore reasons. Document cancellation and reason
At the client’s request, send fully completed cancellation voucher or obtain renewal signed by client indicating cancellation
At the Insurance Company request for Non-Pay – process cancellation
At our Accounting Department request, send the request per our guidelines
If payment is received, obtain authorization to reinstate through company underwriting
Performance Standards:
Respond to client inquiries in a timely manner with the goal of exceeding their expectations
Continuous effort to stay current on all products provided by our contracted insurers together with their underwriting rules and requirements
Maintain up to date, organized client files following procedures and protocol for doing so
Update client information on system as required (WINTAM and Policy Works}
Participation in in-house and seminar courses and implement learning into the practical work environment
Obtain a minimum of 8 continuing education hours annually
Refer Life and Health leads to Group Life department
Remain open to learning and share knowledge and skills with others
Adherence to developed Group standard operating procedures and guidelines
Be an effective team player to both the department and the brokerage as a whole
Maintain processing time limits in accordance with required Group Binding Authority Guidelines
