Full-Time Commercial Lines Account Manager

Job Description

Primary Objective/Duties of position:

  • Servicing on-going client needs, advising on insurance matters, assessing needs, recommending solutions, answering inquiries
  • Quoting new business through existing clientele
  • Contacting Underwriters and Adjusters to discuss guidelines and policy
  • Preparing documentation for insurers, completing applications for new clients, issuing insurance certificates, processing changes, processing renewals
  • Collecting payments, banking, invoicing
  • Processing mail and faxes
  • Keeping current on underwriting rules
  • Renewal and care phone calls

Knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Computer skills – Word, Excel, Outlook, Policy Works
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Communication skills (verbal and written)
  • The ability to work in a fast paced environment (multitasking & attention to detail)
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Time management skills
  • Able to work under pressure and deadline

Desirable or preferred qualifications:

  • High School and/or Secondary Education
  • Must be RIBO licensed
  • CAIB or CIP an asset
  • 2 years minimum experience
