 Your Opportunity: Commercial Automobile Underwriting Assistant 

Employment Type: Full-Time, Temporary, 12 months 

Location: Calgary, AB 

We are looking for an energetic Underwriting Assistant to join our Calgary Office. The successful candidate will provide support to our underwriters through collaboration with the underwriters and by performing various administrative duties associated with supporting the underwriting function. Your Impact:

  • Processing and issuance of new business, renewals and endorsements
  • Order driver’s abstracts and Autoplus reports when required
  • Maintenance of underwriting files including filing
  • Obtain additional information from Brokers as required by the Underwriter
  • Investigate accounting discrepancies referring items to underwriters as needed
  • Answering phones and pulling/distributing/sorting mail items
  • Archiving of cancelled/lapsed files and arrange for offsite storage
  • Various tracking and reporting duties as required
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time. 

Your Expertise:

  • Insurance industry experience preferred. Auto experience an asset but not required
  • Good keyboarding and data entry skills
  • Committed to providing superior customer service to our brokers
  • Ability to apply new knowledge effectively and efficiently
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and pride in workmanship
  • Excellent communication skills both oral and written
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel
