Full-Time Commercial Automobile Specialist
Job Description
Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Acting as a resource to the underwriting teams
- Conducting research on various topics relating to automobile insurance
- When required, assisting on underwriting reviews by auditing files and providing effective feedback
- Developing commercial procedures and guidelines
- Developing training material and conducting seminars
- Assisting with the evaluation of new and emerging product opportunities
- Recommending changes that are necessary due to amendments made to the automobile regulations in the jurisdictions in which Frank Cowan Company conducts business
- Keeping up to date on industry news and the provincial insurance acts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of senior commercial automobile underwriting experience
- A sound understanding of the Automobile Insurance Act, automobile policy & form wordings
- CIP or working towards would be an asset
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products, with an emphasis on excel
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Strong analytical and judgment skills required
- Attention to detail is essential
- Problem-solving expertise
- Highly organized to manage workflow efficiently
- Ability to work independently or in a small team environment
