CASUALTY UNDERWRITING MANAGER

Responsibilities:
- Implement Head Office underwriting strategies, policies & programs
- Respond to underwriting referrals from Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) and underwriting staff, providing timely advice on complex business risks
- Provide recommendations to improve processes and results
- Complete underwriting quality reviews
- Build relationships with brokers, reinsurers, and clients
- Train, coach and act as an internal ‘consultant’ to staff
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of progressive Commercial P&C underwriting experience
- University or College Grad.
- CIP/FCIP
- Experience in commercial insurance product design, production and delivery, calculating and directing appropriate pricing and underwriting coverage
- Sound broker management
- Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Well-developed business acumen
- Experience managing complex, conflicting priorities
- Ability to present and/or facilitate group presentations
